Saimo SM Sweep Sampling System |
Saimo's belt sampling systems can be either a two stage
or a three-stage sampling system. The two-stage sampling
system is ideally suited for smaller particle size and lower
tonnages applications. The three-stage sampling system is
mostly used for greater particle size and higher flow rate
applications.
The two-stage sampling system is capable of handling coal
sized not greater than 100mm at a flowrate not exceeding
2000t/h. The collected sample is delivered from the primary
sampler to the belt feeder and crusher where the initial
divided sample can be processed. The secondary sampler installed
downstream after a secondary feeder is able to extract the
final sample which is fed into a dustproof and watertight
collector for laboratory analysis.
The three-stage sampling system is well suited to handle
particle sizes of greater than 100mm at a flowrate of greater
than 2000t/h. The primary sampler collects a sample from
the belt in compliance with the applicable standard. The
sample is then delivered through a belt feeder to the secondary
sampler at the minimum increment weights as prescribed by
ASTM D 2234, and subsequently via a conveyor to a crusher
where the sample is reduced to 100% -4 mesh and 95% -8 mesh.
The sample is then metered by a belt feeder to the tertiary
sampler where a final division of the sample is carried
out. The final sample is collected in a dustproof and watertight
container for transportation to the laboratory where final
analysis is performed.

Sample
Feeders |
Belt Feeder employed in sample preparation
systems offers an economic and reliable means to continuously
feed a smooth sample stream to the crusher, divider and other
equipment. The feedrate can be controlled and adjusted according
to the specific application.
|
Crusher |
The crusher in the sample preparation system
is utilized to reduce the sample to a predetermined particle
size suitable for further reduction by a divider. The hammer
type crusher mill has grate bars configured in suitable sizes
and spacing according to the particle size requirement.
|
Dividers |
The divider is also called a secondary or tertiary
sampler. Saimo dividers have two different types: the sweep
type is used for extraction of reliable sample from streams
on the belt, whereas the reciprocating type takes a sample
from the falling coal stream. The sweep type divider is usually
used in self-contained sampling units featuring compact construction.
The division ratio can be changed by means of adjusting belt
speed and action interval of the divider. The reciprocating
type divider is ideally suited for multi-stage sampling applications,
in which the division ratio can be changed by adjusting belt
speed, action interval of the divider and the cutter opening.

Sample
Collectors |
The final sample is fed into one can of the
multi-station collector for storage. The dustproof construction
of the collector reduces sample contamination and loss of
moisture. Each sample can is automatically exchangeable. Sample
collectors are furnished as 4,8,12 or 16 station rotary models
for specific applications.

Residue
Returns System |
The residue return system is employed to return
the rejected sample back into the mainstream after a sample
is procured. Different devices can be used for this purpose,
such as bucket elevator, screw feeder and belt conveyor. |
